Design Intensive Proposal: Brave Mum's Greet & Eat

Brave Mum's Greet and Eat:Design proposal for a Brave Life Organisation
As part of my course at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) I was provided with the exciting oportunity to be involved in a collaborative design project to respond to a design brief prepared by a community-based organisation. The community based organisation that my team worked with was A Brave Life, a non-profit organisation which eqips and empowers young mothers facing a broad range of challenges suvh as homelessness, domestic violence, poverty and relationship breakdowns. We all had the amazing oportunity to meet with founder of A Brave Life, Mel Redsell (Melissa R.) and a member of her team to present our design proposal to aligned withing the breif given to my team.
I worked alongside Haruko DoiWening RahditoHope Murray and Edward Gray to develope and present our proposal. The proposal formulated was a Brave Mum's Eat and Greet, which was a sort of mum's group/afternoon tea, the aim of this function was to create the support system that all mothers need and deserve. The Brave Life external partners were impressed by our proposal, some feedback being that our idea was "well thought out and explored". Overall I am so grateful to have been part of this experience and look forward to more projects within my degree in the future

Our Design Proposal
There's a lot of stigma and pressure surrounding young and vulnerable mothers
many  mothers struggle with lables of being a "teen mum" "single mum" , and many feel isolated and overwhelmed, we want to create a community for mothers to "just feel like a mum" we propose a function called Brave Mum's Greet & Eat.

We aim to create the support system that all mothers deserve and need  There are two sides of this function, the social side of it and the physical assistance and assurance side.
the mothers will share conversations and food to help build connections and become part of the mother community. there will also be a GP and volunteering midwives present to advise the mothers and ensure their baby's wellbeing. we intend on calling on the support and knowledge of older generations of mothers, whos experience and assurance can be a comfort to the vulnerable mothers attending. there will be range of mothers of different demographics and ages to accept and offer help and support
This function will be of great relief and assistance to all the vulnerable mums in brisbane and beyond, positively impacting and empowering them as they receive the help and support that every mother deserves!
We hope this impact will reach other communities and paint an image of positive motherhood, reducing stigma and negativity.
